What is a spin down on Wahoo KICKR?
Spindowns help calibrate the KICKR to ensure accurate data reporting and are recommended at least once a month, after removing from storage, or if your readings appear inaccurate to keep your KICKR performing its best. What does ERG mode do?
ERG mode is a setting in training platforms such as Zwift, TrainerRoad and Wahoo SYSTM that fixes your power output by automatically adjusting your resistance to match your cadence. Power is a calculation of torque (how hard you’re pressing on the pedals) multiplied by cadence (how fast they are turning).
Should you change gears in ERG mode?
ERG Mode (Resistance Control Mode)
There’s no need to shift in this mode as the resistance will change automatically, and we recommend keeping a steady and easy-to-hold cadence throughout the entire ride (unless workout instructions tell you otherwise or you need to “ramp up” your pedaling for a tough interval).
What gear should I ride in on Zwift?
Generally, when you stand outside, you want to shift up a few gears (say 3 harder on the cassette). The higher gear keeps the wheel speed, but allows for the slower pedaling cadence. So you can do the same thing while riding inside, even in ERG mode.

How long does a Wahoo Kickr last?
My Kickr Cores have each lasted between 9-12 months. Wahoo has done a reasonable public relations job by “replacing” the faulty trainers, but every replacement I’ve received was a used reconditioned trainer that they simply patched up and sent back out as a “warranty replacement”.
Do Wahoo Kickr need servicing?
Wahoo even went as far as recommending service intervals, suggesting lubricating your chain every 100 trainer miles, fitting at least a new chain every 1,500-2,000 miles but measuring with a chain checker, and replacing the cassette every 3,000 trainer miles or when a new chain starts to skip — whichever comes first.

Why does Zwift feel so hard?
“The racing is short and particularly intense,” he explained. “It is 45-90 minutes of racing instead of three to six hours. The consequence for the riders is that there is no opportunity to save energy like they have in road races, so they have to make prolonged, all-out efforts that push them to their physical limit.”
Why is ERG mode so hard?
For really low-cadence workouts, Erg Mode may actually be problematic because it can be easy for the resistance to spike so high as to lock the trainer up or if you spike the power even a bit the trainer resistance can drop off making it harder to stay on the cadence.
What gear should your bike be in on a trainer?
Because your Tacx trainer’s resistance is manually-controlled, I’d say start with a middle level of resistance on the trainer, and a middle gear on the bike, and see if that feels too easy or too hard for the pedaling cadence you prefer.
What is a good wattage on Zwift?

How often should I Zwift?
If your riding schedule includes racing on Zwift, consider racing no more than three times per week, with recovery rides, days off, and lighter training in between. And even if your training load is more steady (with few “race day efforts”) taking a day or two for recovery per week is smart.
Does Zwift improve your cycling?
So Zwift is a smoother and cleaner cycling experience than in many outdoor situations. However, the speed and distance calculations are different to real-world cycling so there are instances where you will appear faster (or slower) than what you’d expect in real life.
